Ocio Villas by Casa Chameleon is a remarkable location for a private, exclusive, and intimate destination wedding in Costa Rica. During our time as wedding photographers in Costa Rica, we’ve seen few villas and other wedding venues whose views, secluded location, and gorgeous sites for wedding ceremonies and receptions can compare. Then there are the exquisite, spacious suites with luxury amenities and breathtaking views you can enjoy from your canopy bed in the honeymoon suite and your wedding guests from their rooms that are no less luxurious.

 LOCATION AND NEAREST AIRPORT

Ocio Villas is nestled deep within the untamed mountainous jungle in the southernmost portion of the Nicoya Peninsula overlooking the incredible Pacific Ocean coastline of Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.  Both the Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) and Daniel Oduber Quiros (LIR) international airports are about 4-1/2 hours from the villas by car.  The villa can organize a private shuttle or car service or from your arrival airport or they can make arrangements to travel to the local airport (the Tambor Airstrip) by charter plane or helicopter to the helipad at the villa.  Please contact the villas directly for details, availability, and pricing.

HISTORY, DESIGN & REPUTATION

Guests have been getting married at Ocio Villas by Casa Chameleon and experiencing Costa Rica in new ways since 2008.  Ocio Villas is a secluded, private luxury villa estate that consists of two villas designed for small groups and intimate weddings, elopements, honeymoons, and romantic getaways: Villa Nimbu and Villa Numu  It’s a bit of an island replete with all the amenities would expect of a luxury villa in an isolated, virgin jungle paradise with extraordinary views of the surrounding rainforest-covered mountains and bluish waters of the Pacific Ocean.  It’s simply a brilliant venue for a private, luxury, Costa Rica destination wedding for those looking for extreme privacy.

 WEDDING PLANNING SERVICES

To make sure your wedding goes as planned, the villa can either help your plan your big day with their in-house wedding planner or refer you to highly qualified, professional wedding organizer they regularly work with to take care of all the details of your wedding day, from your bridal bouquet and his boutonnieres, to the table settings, food, wine and entertainment.  WEDDING PREPARATION SERVICES

Have your makeup done, hair styled, and manicure and pedicure done in the comfort and privacy of your villa on your wedding day by one of the stylists, makeup artists, and manicurists Ocio Villas by Casa Chameleon can recommend.  They can also arrange other spa treatments in your room, from facials to massages so your are as relaxed as possible when you walk down the aisle.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Ocio Villas by Casa Chameleon can accommodate up to 14 of your wedding-day guests overnight in its two villas: Villa Nimbu and Villa Numu.  For your wedding, you can rent either villa or both of them if you want complete privacy before, during, and after your wedding day.

 1. VILLA NIMBU ACCOMODATIONS

Villa Nimbu, Ocio’s main villa, is a gated compound that has 5 luxurious, oversized master suites that can accommodate up to two guests per suite for a total of 10 overnight guests.  Each suite has a private bath made of natural stone and a shower – two of which have driftwood tree trunks incorporated into their design.  Making the villa even more remarkable are its three pools – one has a submerged bar and hot tub – a spacious, modern kitchen with professional-grade appliances and everything else you need for your culinary needs, a circular Fresno dining table that borders on the dramatic with seating for 20, expansive outdoor deck with areas for dining and lounging, a media room, air-conditioning, a lighted heliport, and satellite, cable, and Wi-Fi. 

 2. VILLA NUMU ACCOMODATIONS

Though smaller in size, Villa Numu is no less elegant and luxurious with its open floor plan.  Its two copious master suites can accommodate 4 of your wedding guests overnight and likewise boast of luxury amenities and breathtaking views from its rooms and interior and exterior common areas.  It has three swimming pools – one has a swim-up bar-, a custom spa, similarly sized and stocked kitchen and dining table for 20, a large, open-air, living room with ocean views with a Moroccan twist, large outside decks with areas for dining and lounging, a media room and all you need to connect to the outside world, air-conditioning, all you need to and lighted heliport.  

WEDDING DAY EVENT SITES – CEREMONY RECEPTION.

Ocio Villas has three locations for your wedding day events and can accommodate up to 100 guests for your wedding ceremony and reception you and your guests will love.

1. THE BEACH – CEREMONIES AND COCKTAIL HOUR

If you’ve been dreaming of a Costa Rica beach wedding, there’s few dreamier beach venues than the section of Mal Pais’s white-sand beaches in front of the Ocio Villas.

2. HELIPAD – CEREMONIES

Say “I do” on the helipad at Ocio Villas with stunning views of Mal Pais Beach and Santa Teresa Beach, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding hills covered in rainforest for a truly unique wedding.

3. POOL AREA – CEREMONY, COCKTAIL HOUR & RECEPTION

The common area by the pool is another great option given its remarkable ocean, beach, jungle, and mountain views.

WEDDINGS AT OCIO VILLAS – SOME DETAILS

There are no restrictions or blackout dates for getting married at Ocio Villas by Casa Chameleon · Ocio Villas charges a cleanup fee for weddings (costs depends on the number of guests) · You can have live music or a DJ for your wedding, and there is not cutoff time for music or for your wedding reception · To have a wedding at Ocio Villas, the entire estate must be rented.

DINING AT THE VILLA

Ocio Villas does not have an onsite restaurant. For your wedding dinner and drinks, they can recommend do all the food and beverage services or the wedding planner can arrange catering. For the days before and after your wedding, you can make your own meals or hire a private chef the villa recommends.

ACTIVITIES – AT THE VILLA AND OFFSITE

At the villa, you can take advantage of the various pools, the media room, and lounging areas, or go to the beach.  The villa can make arrangements for all sorts of activities offsite, from fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving, to horseback riding, hiking, walking nature trails, rock climbing, mountain biking, and riding ATVs, as well as trips to cocoa and coffee plantations and to volcanoes – where you can take a dip in thermal springs and mud baths, – and to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. 

Inside dining are for wedding receptions with marvelous rainforest and ocean views at Ocio Villas, Mal Pais.
